Short and Mostly Sweet

Bobcat's parents have been busy with work, moving Bobcat into her own bedroom, and avoiding the sweltering house now that the summer heat has truly returned to Southern California.

Bobcat has been busy growing eight teeth! Sometimes her mood is less than pleasant.

Marine Layer

Josie has been enjoying the morning fog during her exercise routine. She mostly likes to walk independently now, but prefers a helping hand on concrete.

Looks like Dad wishes he had a fluffy bear hoodie.

Bathtub Art

Bobcat was granted crayon access around the time of her first birthday and was encouraged to scrawl during bath time. For several weeks she was bent on only holding as many colors as possible. Since then Josie has mastered her crayon hoarding compulsion, and the family bathroom always has an extra splash of color.

Bobcat Returns to the Wild

As Southern California's unseasonably reasonable July drifted into August Josie and her parents went on a camping trip with the Rowe and Gandhi families in the Laguna Mountains at the Burnt Rancheria campground. Bobcat was thrilled with the menu of activities even if she passed out before the Euro s'mores were assembled. Her time was divided between sitting in the dirt, making dirt tea with Fia, hiking, pointing out birds, imitating crows, and sitting on Rishti's lap.

Look at those cheeks!

"I love dirt tea and dirt bananas and dirt."

Tiny dirty buns

Annie borrowed a gigantic tent from the Maklary family that could accommodate a portable crib, two adults, gear for the whole family, two elephants, one trapeze, one lion, and one flaming hoola hoop. Bobcat slept well.

For her breakfast, Bobcat foraged for insects under the bark of a fallen tree. Finding nothing, she attempted to replace the bark.

"You wanna see me go spider monkey on this bark?"

Notice the hole in the bark?

A grand time was had by all!
