A family friend reserved a campsite at a very popular and difficult to book state park in North County, San Diego. When she was unable to use her reservation, the Joh(a)ns(e/o)n clan was there to snatch it up. JP and Annie are accustomed to a more rustic style of camping, so the amenities here were quite a change of pace: hot showers, flushing toilets, and a taco stand all on site! 7-Eleven, Starbucks, Patagonia, donuts, and full grocery store within a five minute walk.

The campground is located within spitting distance of a great surf break, and so JP was as happy as could be.

Roz has not mastered the skill of drinking water from a cup. Currently, she sticks her tongue in the water like a cat. Even less effective is her fork method below.

Despite being terrified of the copious flies, Roz and Josie loved the big sandy beach. Their favorite activity is preparing sand meals for Mom and Dad.

Our neighbors to the north were a bit annoying with their chain smoking and constant guests swinging through to smoke the wacky weed. The worst was their blasting of the radio -- why?! Despite annoyance Josie, Roz, and Mama had a tongue in cheek dance party.
